Your First Blog – Part 3 Marketing Your Blog
Simply keeping a blog is, well, simple. Marketing that blog, and making it a part of your online business presence not as simple, but still very doable. If you are a beginner and new to blogging as well as marketing, then there are some very important things that you will need to learn.
Blog marketing can get complicated if you let it. But it is also something that can be taken on in a progressive manner. You don’t need to be all sophisticated right away. Blogging is kind, in that it allows you time to grow into it.
While there are some bloggers out there that are making a six figure income with the use of blogs, we’ll just concentrate on getting started here. And then later worry about how fast we can go.
Blog marketing is a great thing to learn. You will learn both marketing skills and technical skill, as you get more experienced and expand your blogging prowess.
The marketing side of things include: traffic, opt-in forms and list building, keyword research, and link building All good things to learn.
The technical side of things include: plug-ins, widgets, themes, ftp, SEO, and other techie bits. Again, all good things to learn.
One important thing to remember is to be patient. With blogging there is no over night success. It takes a bit of time to build a blog that gets a lot of visitors. And it takes a lot of consistency and discipline to keep at it. But don’t give up, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
