Your First Blog – Part 5 Keeping Up

How do you go about getting your blog out there to be seen and known by others?  It may be surprising at first but you do so by making regular posts to your blog.

Search engines really like blogs.  One of the reasons is that blogs are dynamic.  At least they are suppose to be.  This means that the more you post to your blog, the more the search engines will notice.   And the more the search engines like you, the more they will help people searching for your material find your blog.  Its good for everyone.

You need to post content in your blog regularly for the best results.  Whether you decide to post every day, or just a couple of times a week, this needs to be done consistently.  It is this consistent, disciplined posting that will pay dividends long-term.

Not only does regular postings keep the search engines happy, but it also pleases your returning visitors.  Who wants to visit a blog that is static and stale?   If they see new material/posts on your web, they will be more inclined to return more often.

One word of caution here, do not let the quality of your content slip.  If you can’t post every day, then don’t.  And don’t feel guilty for it.  You only have so much time.  Two or three quality posts per week, is much better than a dozen garbage posts.  Who wants to read garbage?  Not your visitors.

Consistency is then name of the game when creating a quality blog.  Consistently good content, in consistently timed posts.
